Vic: Hookes in critical condition after assault = 2

Former Australian cricket captain Ian Chappell said fighting was out of character for Hookes.

"Like most cricketers David's not a fighter," he told the Today Show.

"He was always prepared to speak his opinion and we might have got an animated discussion
out of him but certainly not fighting.

"It sounds like a classic case of wrong place at the wrong time."
